Cooking Class: Creating a sourdough Starter
September 25 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
“Creating A Sourdough Starter” on Wednesday 9/25 from 2-4.
Description: Having a strong, active sourdough starter is the foundation for sourdough baking. In this class Frank Petrarca will teach you how to culture your very own sourdough starter by harnessing the wild bacteria that is all around us. The process itself takes a couple weeks but Frank will cover the entire process in this class. In addition to creating your starter you’ll learn about the “Care & feeding” that will allow you to keep this starter for life. You’ll also learn how to revive a starter that has been not used in a long time. No bread will be baked in this class but you will enjoy sourdough samples. Attendees will receive printed instructions and some raw materials to help create their own starter once they get home. Attendees should bring a small glass bowl with a lid or a snap-lock jar.
Please sign up for this class at the following link: Creating A Sourdough Starter Signup Form Attendance is limited to 14 attendees.
