Cooking Class: Sourdough Boule w/ Frank the Bread guy
August 3 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
SATURDAY, AUGUST 3RD!
Saturdays are for bread baking! Join Frank the Bread Guy–Frank Petrarca–and learn the art of making delicious bread. He will lead you through mastering technique, attention to quality ingredients, shaping tips & tricks, take the mystique out of baking, and show folks how to gear bread-baking to work around their schedule. Enjoy Frank’s pre-baked samples with our in-house churned compound butters, jam, and other little bites as you knead your way to amazing bread!
Sourdough Boule’ – In this class you will learn how to craft a 100% naturally fermented loaf (no baker’s yeast) based on the San Francisco Tartine Bakery’s signature round, crusty, tangy loaf. This loaf requires a lot of time due to natural fermentation taking place. Attendees can mix their dough in class and take the dough home to complete or just take the ingredients home to mix at their convenience. (Keep in mind mixing space can be limited). For those who wish to mix their dough in class bringing a large plastic bowl with a lid is also recommended. Attendees will need to own a 6-quart Dutch oven and parchment paper. (Skill Level – Intermediate).
